Artist Benjamin Muzzin has spun the humble digital monitor into something much more fascinating in an installation called Full Turn. By taking a flat display and rotating it at a very high speed, Muzzin transformed what would have been a 2D image into a protean, 3D sculpture of light — one that twists, pulsates, ebbs, and grows with mesmerizing fluidity.

“With this project I wanted to explore the notion of the third dimension, with the desire to try to get out of the usual frame of a flat screen,” Muzzin says. “For this, my work mainly consisted in exploring and experimenting a different device for displaying images, trying to give animations volume in space.” You can see more of Muzzin’s work with light and form on his website.
