A warm front will provide New Jerseyans with a brief oasis from winter’s chill through the beginning of this week, pushing temperatures 10 to 15 degrees higher than normal, according to the National Weather Service.

Temperatures today should top 60 degrees across the state, and tonight’s low, around 45, will be as warm as an average December afternoon. Tuesday, the mercury will rise even higher as much of the state reaches 65, with some sections possibly nearing 70.

A chance of rain Tuesday night into Wednesday will cool the area a bit, as midweek temperatures hit a few degrees below 60. Thursday and Friday are both projected to peak in the mid-40s, and temperatures should stay there through the weekend.
