Medal of Honor: Warfighter‘s upcoming Zero Dark Thirty Map Pack is set for release Dec. 18, introducing two new multiplayer maps based on the Pakistani region in which Osama Bin Laden was hunted, according to a poston the PlayStation Blog by Marc Janas, a level designer at Electronic Arts.

Both maps are based on areas from the single-player campaign. “Darra Gun Market” contains a scenic river crossing, docks and an abandoned estate, while “Chitral Compound” takes place in a small town center with a focus on rooftop combat.

“Our two main goals in making these maps were to create environments that would let us push for longer range combat, and more verticality than some of our shipped maps,” wrote Janas. “We listened to what a lot of the fans were saying, and we’ve delivered a wider range of gameplay opportunities for long-range classes. In both of these maps you’ll find many areas specifically designed for snipers to cover their teammates going in to plant a bomb, as well as multi-tiered buildings for players who like to access high ground while on defense.”

The Zero Dark Thirty Map Pack will be free for those who own the limited edition of Medal of Honor: Warfighterand $9.99 for those who don’t. EA will donate $1 from each sale to organizations that help veterans and military families.

The DLC takes its name from the upcoming Zero Dark Thirty film, which tells the story of the hunt for Osama Bin Laden.
