YouTube Announces That It Has Hit One Billion Monthly Users, Which Is Roughly Ten Super Bowl Audiences

As reported on TechCrunch. by DREW OLANOFF Today, YouTube announced that it has hit a billion monthly users, which is an extremely insane metric. We know that YouTube is the go-to place for silly, interesting and important videos, but these numbers are something that even TV networks dream of. The great part for YouTube is that this means that online video ad spend will go up since the eyeballs appear to be ready, willing and able. It’s not…

Google Chrome’s World Wide Maze turns your favorite website into 3D game that’s played on your phone (video) Mobile

As reported on Engadget. By Mat Smith Google’s latest Chrome experiment is a marble maze game that binds your smartphone to your PC through those shareable tabs. Once you’ve opened the same tab on both platforms, you’ll be put in control of a metallic Nexus Q lookalike, steered by the accelerometers baked into your smartphone — as well as power and jump buttons. Better still, there’s (arguably) an infinite number of levels to tackle, with the experiment transforming your favorite…

Draft cloud editor saves writing in stages, imports from just about anywhere

As reported on Engadget. By Jon Fingas Although web-based editors like Google Docs are wonderful for writers who don’t have a save shortcut hardwired in their muscle memory, they’re lousy for anyone who’s interested in seeing major revisions on the road to a final copy. Nathan Kontny’s new Draft web app might be far more helpful for those creators who work step by step. It lets writers declare given document versions as mid-progress drafts, and offers editing side-by-side…

Tokyoflash’s cryptography-inspired Kisai X watch tells time via pyramid lens, LED lights

As reported on Engadget. By Sarah Silbert Tokyoflash, maker of highly conceptual, anything-but-your-average-wristwatch products like the Kisai OTO and the Kisai Maru, is outing its latest device: the Kisai X. Like many of the company’s timepieces, the X is the result of fan submissions. In this case, it was co-designed by Firdaus Rohman and Heather Sable, who clearly were inspired by cryptography. Like several other Kisai watches, the X doesn’t put a priority on easily decipherable digits. In fact,…
